Sturbridge Town Hall Restoration

The Sturbridge, MA Town Hall project involved the restoration and rehabilitation of two historic buildings, The Town Hall Building and the Center Office Building. Both buildings date from the late 1800’s, and are wood frame and brick masonry structures constructed on field stone foundations.
NETCO was selected to be the Project Manager for the design through the construction process, a 12 month schedule. Included in this work is phasing of the design and construction to minimize the cost and the amount of time that the Town Administration staff will need to occupy other office facilities. Key technical challenges were structural analysis of both buildings, and addressing the infiltration of water in the basement and crawl spaces of each building. The structural issues were addressed and the Town Hall employees now have much needed storage space, and larger work areas in more comfortable, energy efficient buildings.
