One of the largest new residential construction projects in Lexington, Massachusetts, began in July 2007. The project involved the construction of 32 new luxury condominiums with associated prime retail space along Massachusetts Avenue and Waltham Streets in Lexington Center. The project was constructed on the former site of the Battle Green Inn, a 1959 motel-style structure.
The work involved demolition of the Battle Green Inn, temporary shoring and underpinning to avoid damage to surrounding buildings, construction of a 25,000 square foot underground parking structure and construction of 63,000 square feet above ground retail and residential condominiums.
